Essay Instructions: Classical music bibliography paper on Cosmos Trio. A flute, viola and harp group founded in 2004 by Katherine Borst-Jones, Mary Harris and Jeanne Norton. The three founding musicians are all members of the Pro Musica Chamber of Columbus,Oh. On Aug. 4th 2008 I went to a concert they had at St.John's Evangelical Church in Columbus, Ohio. They played 4 works; Petite Suite(2007),Beautiful, Sweet, Delicate for flute, Viola, and Harp(2005),Trio in Four Movements for flute, Viola and Harp(2006),and A Columbus Triptych(2006) Prof.'s Requirements:Please cite the orchestra (Trio)time and place of the performance. When citing program notes use your own words whenever possible. Begin paper with the facts. Introduce the composer and the style and outline carefully the major elements or characteristics of that style. The first half of paper should focus on the composer and the style. At this point you should not yet have discussed the performance. Second part begin to describe the music heard and interpret the movements or other divisions of the composition. Then identify the features that made it baroque,classical, etc... Finally add your own experience of the music. Include a bibliography of at least 3 sources other than the textbook and art class notes at the end of the paper.
