Jonathan D. Spence, The Gate of Heavenly Peace: The Chinese and Their
Revolution.
For the paper, please start by briefly saying what the book is about. Then
relate a number of episodes from it (five to eight of these), explaining how they
supplement, clarify, or speak differently from what we?ve gone over in class
readings and lectures.

Essay Instructions: needs to be a 1900 word essay about anything in chinese history from 1100-1500. (i guess just pick one dynasty and see what you can come up with) It could be about sexual relations, military technology, family lifestyles, or anything else you want.
