Essay Instructions: Write a 5-6 (MLA format, double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman) paper in which you provide a close reading of how two of the texts we have read this semester treat one issue. This paper will also explain how the aspect of the text you analyze displays or does not display one or more aspects of Postmodernism. Feel free to branch out from our definition/discussion of Post modernism and use research of your own. Since the purpose of this assignment is for you to formulate a position as to what two texts say about an issue, you will need to find quotations and examples from both of the texts that present the view you are trying to prove. Nevertheless, analysis is more important than quotation. Be sure that you explain how the quotations you choose are relevant and justify your reading of the texts. Due april 30.

The humurous treatment of unhumurous material in "Lolita" or one of the George Saunders stories and how it demonstrates Postmodern irreverence toward sacred cows.
