Assignment:
A case study analyses on Bank of America.

The written report should have three major sections:
1) Identification of the strategic issues and problems? This section contains a focused paragraph defining the problem. A problem well-defined is half solved therefore your analysis must contain a clear statement as to the underlying problem facing the organization. Specify the constraints and options available to the organization.
2) Analysis and evaluation. This section contains thoughtful and succinct assessment of industry, market, buyer behavior and organization. Be careful not to restate case information, rather focus on assessment and interpretation of the facts, qualitative and quantitative data and management views. SWOT analysis framework that you learned in W3 is one of the useful tools to use in case analysis. This section should also present three alternative courses of actions with pros and cons analysis for each alternative.
3) Recommendations. This section presents set of recommendations chosen from the alternatives discussed in the previous section. Make sure those recommendations are coming out of your assessment of the situation. Recommendations should be operational and realistic given case situation.

Essay Instructions: Complete a Case Analysis of Bank of America and the New Financial Landscape (CASE 14 - attached)

Assume you are a consultant tasked by the Bank of America to analyze its external/internal environment and make strategic recommendations. The matrices should not be part of the analysis body but exhibits/attachments.
The completed case should include the following 4 sections:

1. BCG Matrix

2. Current and historical Financial Statements

This includes current and historical Financial Statements (Income Statement (I/S), Balance Sheet (B/S) and Statement of Cash Flows) from the three most current years for the firm
the financial statements must include changes (deltas) between years.

3. Net Present Value analysis of proposed strategy’s new cash flow and EPS/EBIT analysis

NOTE: To construct the first cash flow (cf1) at the very minimum, the new revenue from your strategy(s) must be discounted back to the present value by calculating EBIT and that figure will be your cfn for each year. cf0 (initial cost of your strategy), cf1 (discounted cash flow first year), r (opportunity cost of capital, the rate of the next best alternative use of cash/debt/equity resources).

4. Prepare Pro-Formal Financial Statements (out three years) (I/S, B/S and Statement of Cash Flows) with deltas out three years and analysis

Each year must have two columns: one with your strategy and one without your strategy.
Include Pro-Forma ratios for the first year out with deltas contrasting from the most current year’s ratios.

There are faxes for this order.

Essay Instructions: The paper is on Bank of America, stock ticker symbol BAC.

Content: The paper must include the following 5 sections:
? the background of the company with a life cycle analysis
? an analysis of Return on Equity
? the company's projected future growth rate of earnings
? an analysis of its required rate of return using the CAPM measurement
? the company?s intrinsic value using the discount valuation techniques
Describe the competitive forces in the industry including the company's relative advantages and disadvantages to its competitors and include a discussion on ROE as the basis for growth. This analysis should include demographic trends. DO NOT just state that "GE has grown at 10% in the past and will again in the future". You should tell why you think that GE can grow 10% (for instance, because you think its products will appeal to a certain demographic that is growing at X%). Given the outcome of your research and technical analysis, you will provide a buy or sell recommendation and estimated price target.
