The Bacchae, Pentheus, the leader of Thebes, cross-dresses (dresses like a woman) in order to infiltrate and be able to spy upon the Theban-women-turned-into-Dionysian-Maenads, who are outside of the city. The actual scene of cross-dressing takes place at lines 917-976 (pp. 195-199), but it is also prepared for between lines 787-916 (pp. 188-195).
