Title: Does the historical Jericho as told in the book of Joshua match up with archeology digs

Total Pages: 11 Words: 3375 Works Cited: 10 Citation Style: MLA Document Type: Research Paper

Essay Instructions: This is for a Biblical archeology course.
The professor does not want web pages as references. He prefers books and journals. The paper requires footnotes or endnotes (endnotes does not count towards the 10 page minimum)
A Bibliography in correct style is required.
I had to turn in a thesis statement already which he said was weak. The original one was- Does historical Jericho match up with archeological digs? Due to recent findings archeologists and Biblical historians are in question of what truly happened to the ancient city.
I have rewritten it but have not heard back from him. My rewritten one is : Does the historical Jericho, as told in the book of Joshua, match up with the archeology digs? Archeology has been used to support historical narratives such as the battle of Jericho. Even though scholars sometimes disagree regarding the dates of such an event the disagreements do not affect the fact that faith is the bottom line regarding Christianity.

My work will need a Title page, footnotes and a Bibliography.
Also, please provide copies of sources for my documentation.
I would like two status updates especially including the sources to be used. The Bible can not count as one of the sources.
Please send me both the document as text in an email but I also need a Microsoft word file.
I will be sending some of the sources I had turned in that I said I was going to use that he allowed, however he disallowed most of mine because I used webpages. I need at least 10 sources not counting the Bible.

Title: Sarcophagus Lid

Total Pages: 6 Words: 1760 Bibliography: 4 Citation Style: APA Document Type: Essay

Essay Instructions: PLEASE READ THE BELOW INSTRUCTION:

Pacal’s Sacophagus
1. Write a 4 pg. single-spaced essay addressed to a 12-yr. old (=fkf) explaining what this sarcophagus lid means. Say a few words about the bones and jadite mask inside the sarcophagus, but spend most of you time explaining the religious symbolism on the lid: 1) the outer markings, the Cosmic Tree and the Bird atop, Pacal’s posture and clothing including headdress, the Maw of Death, etc. You will need to say something about Mayan kingship and the ritual role of the king. The San Bartolo mural is relevant. Check out my diagram of the Popol Vuh in the Handbook.
4. Watch out! There is a lot of hokum archeology about the Maya. Erich von Danekin thought Pacal is outfitted in a space-suit and manipulating space ship controls! Whoopee!

A Poem about the Lid which I like a lot”
To where did you journey, Pacal, holy lord?
The way to Xibalba in Night's dome is poured
A road long and white to the ancient Waka-Chan
It's roots hold the hearth from which life was begun.
First Father reborn there emerged with the Twins
Who fought the dark lords lured by ball games' loud din.
The trials of the underworld beaten, they died,
The Twins reincarnated burnt their foes' pride.
The Maker with Heart of the Sky and wise snake
The Serpent bright Plumbed all decided to make
A world. They divided the sky and the waters as a frame,
They called from the mist the name 'earth' and it came.
The ceiba was raised in the middle place high
The quadrants of four all the parts of the sky
In cycles renewing the earth and all life
Where time is incarnate in peace and in strife.
From jaws through the crocodile paddles your canoe
Through glittering night of the stars secret queue
At dawn in the zenith he enters the mystery.
Pacal, journey well to the infinite tree.
