This film analysis should be the investigation of how a portion or aspect of a given film works. The viewer aims to reveal the accomplishments of the filmmaker by resolving the work into its simple elements and by using those elements to create an interpretation. Good film analysis convinces on the basis of the solidity and sense of the interpretive ideas, their detailed support and the clarity of their presentation. Avoid re-telling the plot of the film. Think of this paper the same way as writing a character analysis from a book. You would not give a book review but would concentrate on the development of the character you are writing about.

However, there are some movies that does not fit the 3 act paradigm, like Alfred Hitchcock's movie Psycho (or like Memento, Love Actually...) . Define Psycho's paradigm. What is different then the 3 act one? How is the story telling? Basically, make up a new paradigm for the movie Psycho which is different than the 3 act paradigm. And explain why might Hitchcock chose to go that way.
