I have been saying for years that I want to further my education. I have put off this goal for a while now, as life threw some unexpected curves. I am now 31 years old and a single mother of two boys. I work 40 hours a week, but I feel unchallenged in my current position. For the past 13 years I have worked as a secretary, performing necessary but mundane tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and generating weekly and monthly reports. However, I have lately been given the opportunity to advance within my company and to take on tasks that bear greater responsibility. Most recently, I was given an opportunity to step into a key role on a highly visible contract.The new direction my career was taking led me to explore options for higher education. When I came across Kaplan College on the web, I realized that I could incorporate the training I need into my hectic home and work schedule. The online program with Kaplan is perfectly suited to my time constraints. It will allow me to pursue a higher education and gain necessary knowledge for my job without having to attend live classes. Furthermore, this training will provide me with endless opportunities for me to achieve my goal of becoming a Project Financial Leader, which might then open other doors for me in the future.
