The six major concepts and definitions of HBM are as follows, with the corresponding self-assessment information following a (/).

Perceived Susceptibility: refers to a person's perception that a health problem is personally relevant or that a diagnosis of illness is accurate."/relevance of family history of disease

Motivation: includes the desire to comply with a treatment and the belief that people should do what health care professionals tell them to"/I desire the loss of weight as well as the benefits of better health, higher energy and mostly reduced risk of familial diseases and illness

Modifying factors: include personality variables, patient satisfaction, and socio-demographic factors.

Conclusion

The development of this assignment has given me a measurable and attainable goal that is productive for greater health as well as insight into the mindset of future and current patients with regard to the HBM and the HP2010 national objectives. The work demonstrates a personal application that will likely assist me in the future to build and/or modify what are likely best practices regarding compliance with healthy behavior changes.
