However, in recent decades this problem has not only been addressed but ways have been researched so that this problem could be reduced in percentage and affect. The treatment has become more diverse and the environment provided for the treatments has been made safe and hospitable. The family of the depressed adolescent has been made more aware and has cooperated in controlling or overcoming this problem with time. The goal of trying to get the adolescent to understand and comprehend his self and his thoughts has been achieved regularly and with fruitful results.

What needs to be done now is that after the counseling period has ended, some kind of constant counsel meeting or medication should be adopted so that the adolescent does not slip back into depression after the short span of treatment. The parents and the families can get involved to make sure that everything works out accordingly and provide the adolescent with opportunities to adapt the skills he learned in therapy in real life.

Best Treatment options/suggestions

The treatment should focus primarily on strengths of the adolescent suffering from depression. The counselor should utilize available resources to its highest capacity as well as focus, on the adolescent's skills and aptitude. Furthermore, it is important to evaluate the level of depression being suffered by the adolescent so that proper care and treatment can be given. Of course, the individual himself should have a desire or the drive to get treatment and learn more about himself and how to motivate himself towards the positive, and should be able to clearly explain and set his own personal goals and reach them. In addition to all that, it is very important that even after the treatment session has ended the adolescent in question is called up from time to time by the counselor and has constant visits by him/her so that the lessons learned in the treatment session are put to use in real life. Family support, time and cooperation is also crucial for the adolescent to not relapse into his depression.
Conclusion:

Depression is a problem that needs to be dealt with seriously in our society especially among adolescents who do not know how to channel what they're feeling into something positive and constructive.

The depressed adolescents go through vulnerability, insecurity, low self-esteem, and the desire to end his life as he sees it not going anywhere in the future; all these problems and symptoms should be dealt with treatment and medication which would be most efficient and long lasting on the individual.

Furthermore, more researches and studies need to be done relating to the lack of treatment and awareness of depression amongst adolescents so that this issue can be rectified even more….....
