international community to know why so many movements have taken place. Was it the fall of the liberal pluralism theory? Is it the beginning of a new era of politics? The realism theory has been hurt badly by the recent developments of the international movements. Not only these movements have impacted international politics, they have changed the dynamics of the international relations.

Tunisian movement was the one to spark the beginning of many other revolutions. Tunisia was placed in a bleak environment of Middle East. It is a secular nation and has friendly ties with Western Europe and United States. It had an educated population and unlike many Islamic countries, women were provided their rights. Despite all of this the Ben Ali's regime was considered to be the most brutal which caused the extreme repression. The regime had blocked the freedom of expression which caused the liberals to start a movement against it. The sense of losing national identity triggered the public to move out of their comfort zones and stand for their rights. A realist would have said that there was no need for the movement as it caused death of a number of people but this movement which was a trendsetter discarded all such theories. Egypt's revolution followed the direction of the Tunisian movement.
The Egyptian revolution this movement confirms the doctrine of popular sovereignty by the spontaneous nature of the movement. The movement was brought about by the youth of the nation who were able to organize protests on such a large scale. The main reasons of the revolution were many including economic problems, social hardships, leadership issues etc. Unemployment and rise in the food prices further ignited the fire. Cairo was declared as war zone and a curfew was imposed by the Government. Although Hosni Mubarak has been ousted but the problems of the Egyptians still exist and they are still waiting for democratic elections to be held in their country. This gave rise to popular sovereignty concept in international relations.

The Syrian Movement was no different from the other two movements it caused the loss of many lives and challenged the theories of many traditionalists. The sovereignty and democracy became the first priority of the people who wanted to break the chains of the traditional system. The United Nations stepped in to solve the disputes and called to the Syrian authorities to stop the brutal assault on its own people. All this has led to civil war in Syria as….....
