The morning sessions were composed of information sessions that included a vast degree of tangible information such as numbers pertaining to enrollment and programs, as well as specific examples. Following the presentations, the conference participants were invited to discuss the presentations. In the afternoon, however, an electronic team-decision center was used to identify successful models for collaberation, and ways in which the Sloan Foundation could become involved in the integration. Obviously an ambitious person who wanted to do something great with her life, this program planner was able to have it all. She went to a higher end college because of a scholarship, was able to spend time with her children as well as run her own business, and then achieved a high level of education and important positions in education. She truly represents the fact that a person determined can certainly achieve his or her goals. Furthermore, the fact that this program planner attained an esteemed position in adult education after receiving adult education herself is interesting, as one wonders if her background influenced her work in a positive way.

In the second part of this interview, the program planner discusses her role in planning a program at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting corporate headquarters in Washington, D.C. Two aspects stand out as most interesting about this event. First, the process through which the program planner managed to plan the event was interesting, as she discussed the profess from gathering information and finding a sponsor to evaluating the data. This allows readers to see the process of planning an event like many that they have attended from the program planners point-of-view. Second, the topic of this event is rather interesting, as it deals with the relevant discussion regarding the combination of k-12 and higher education.
