Much likes business however, an opportunity must be identified, resources gathered, and utilized in the most efficient manner. Unlike traditional business, the major motive for social entrepreneurs is not that of profit, but instead that of "social value creation."

A social entrepreneur that has been instrumental in furthering the industry and its efforts is Dr. Abraham M. George. Dr. George is the founder of The George Foundation, whose sole purpose is to help illuminate poverty, while promoting health in India. In addition to promoting health, the TGF also helps to provide a cleaner environment, while strengthening democratic ties within India. Serving more than 16,000 people in 17 villages, TGF has allowed individuals within India to live a higher quality of life. TGF's poverty alleviation projects are designed to improve education and health care delivery, offer amenities such as proper housing and adequate water resources, and create employment and sufficient income to sustain the rural poor family. A boarding school was also created to help cultivate this relationship. The school is designed to self sufficient with ground wells, water storage tanks, a horticultural garden, orchards, and a bakery.
In keeping with his social entrepreneurial roots, the school is located in Baliganapalli, an impoverished area in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu in southern India. Its 48 students come from the poorest families in the surrounding area, but they have an extreme amount of talent.

Through this initiative, Dr. George is attempting to enact change in a local community through the use of social entrepreneurship. Through this initiative, Dr. George is providing a sustainable business solution to a social problem in India. Further, even though his motives are not that of profit, the initiative manages to make money and sustain itself through such profit motives. As a result, the community, businesses, and society benefits.
