Sammie and Marissa, the issues that they are facing as far as overtime is concerned are problematic. This is because both of them have been dealing with the same challenges. Yet, at opposite ends of spectrum with: Sammie put in an extra 200 hours. This is based on the fact that she is trying to help out as much as possible. While Marissa, is being given overtime without anyone taking into consideration that the she wants to work these hours. This is creating frustrations in both employees. As Marissa, has announced that she is leaving and Sammie feels that management is not hearing her concerns. To deal with these challenges executives must create a strategy that will satisfy both parties. This will be accomplished by looking at: the way the problem can be resolved and how the law can be applied to handle this situation. Once this occurs, it will offer specific insights about how these issues can be resolved.Problem Resolution

Talk with both parties

The first step is the administration must talk with Sammie and Marissa about the underlying situation individually. Where, they want to listen to their concerns and how they feel the way these issues can be satisfactorily This will help managers, to understand what is important to both parties and what steps need to be taken to deal with these problems. Propose solutions that will address the needs of Marissa and Sammie

The next stage is that management must propose solutions that will address the issues of both. The way that this will take place, is to compensate Sammie for the 200 hours of back overtime pay. While, in the case of Marissa executives must provide her with a normal schedule that involves staying within the traditional 40-hour work week. If at any point either party wants to change the current situation, there needs to be a manager.....
