I think that my work experience is the greatest asset that I bring to Walden. I came to the U.S. from Trinidad and Tobago, which gives me a unique perspective on an important population that many hospitals serve, which are patients with immigrant backgrounds. I went through a lot to succeed in America. In the past, I worked as a Nurses Aid with disabled individuals. The rest of my nursing career has been spent at Beth Israel Medical Center, first as a Graduate Nurse and then as an RN/Charge Nurse in the Medical-Surgical Unit. I am excellent at what I do and I love it.

In my position at Beth Israel, I frequently take charge and act as a demanding but caring leader. My colleagues rely on me as one of the more senior nurses due to my commitment to cooperation and my sensitivity, compassion, and tenacity.Why Walden?

Walden is the right fit for me because of the excellent course offerings in both clinical and administrative areas. In addition, I am drawn to the fact that I would be in class with other working nurses from a wide variety of hospitals and organizations, exposing me to a diverse and active student body. I am also encouraged by the expertise of the faculty. I am excited about the prospect of taking part in an online program, specifically because it will allow me to structure my program in a more flexible way and continue to work at a place that I love very much. While I will be fully committed to Walden upon admission, I do not want to give up what brought me here, which is my love for my hospital and my patients......
