Too many Americans are suffering unnecessarily at the hands of insurance companies that are simply out to make a profit. The healthcare system has been broken here in the United States for way too long. I think it was incredibly brave to stick up for the average Americans against big healthcare companies with millions of dollars to fight back. It is about time that someone in government recognize the problem for as bad as it is and actually take action to stop it, even if that meant loosing some support from your constituents. Americans need acceptable healthcare, and providing that necessary care is worth the small tax increases.

Still, in order to make sure that the legislation passes smoothly and is implemented properly, you must work on some sort of compromise to appease the Republican opposition. Without more support, some other politician may simply tear the Act apart the second you leave office.
This is not a political fight, it is a struggle for a greater quality of life here in the United States. As such, it is important to make some compromises with the opposition so they feel better and more engaged with the legislation as it begins to make such revolutionary changes. One of the biggest compromises you can make is a promise not to increase taxes for the upper class on healthcare or other spending options for the next few years. Ensure the opposition that their money will help save lives, and that they will not have to fork over more tax funding for causes of lesser importance. You have to work with the opposition, not against them, in order to make sure this gamble plays out.
