Programme: Masters in Science Degree in Media, Communication and Development

I have always known that I'm an extrovert. In addition to finding it easy to start (and maintain) conversations with people, I have a flair for teamwork and team effort. This is perhaps the root of my passion for behavioral sciences. It is also on the basis of this that I would like to pursue a career that perfectly aligns with my personality.

A career in advertising is perhaps one of the most rewarding for extroverts like me. It is also one of the most difficult to succeed in. However, as one of my current tutors, who also doubles up as my mentor, constantly points out; it is by relating with the best that we become the best. The London School of Economics is a topnotch institution known for churning out top-level and world-class graduates who go on to succeed in their respective careers. From my research about your institution, I found out that notable individuals including but not limited to TV and media personalities like Harry Maxwell, Greg Barker, and Edward R. Pressman, to mention but a few all horned their unique skills at LSE. Based on their unique talents and the level of skill gained at a premier institution, all these individuals have one thing in common -- they have all gone ahead to succeed in their respective fields.
I have the passion, drive, and determination to succeed in my career of choice. Admission to the London School of Economics for the aforementioned programme will give me an edge in the highly competitive (and crowded) field of advertising.

To tell you a little about myself, I am currently in my third year of instruction at the University of Sussex. I am undertaking a degree in Psychology. One of the modules that I am currently taking is Economic and Consumer Psychology. From this module, I have learnt that through advertising and marketing, companies can effortlessly influence the decisions and choices made by the masses. Modules like these further stimulate my desire to expand my knowledge on the role of the media in the stimulation of demand and sustenance of consumption. Should I be granted admission, my exposure to diverse commercial environments could also come in handy during classroom instruction -- mainly as I seek to link theory to practice.
