Also, the stress related to living one day at a time makes it even more difficult to study and to think and plan for my future and that of my children. As you can probably understand, this is only part of my reason for attempting to obtain a scholarship which will help immensely with not only my financial responsibilities to the school but also to my family.

I am currently enrolled in the Hospitality Management Program here at the school for several reasons. First, I have always found it very enjoyable and worthwhile to be in contact with persons from diverse cultures, mostly because I have discovered that it helps me to develop as a person and to understand why certain people act certain ways in relation to their traditions. Second, after working hard in a restaurant for two long years, a place that obviously provides service to many people from very different backgrounds, I discovered that I also enjoy being with people, whether as a friend or a lowly-paid waitress.But most importantly, I am convinced that by getting this scholarship, I will be able for the first time in my life to truly help my wonderful family in ways that will enrich their lives. Also, by getting this scholarship, I will be able to begin saving for my children's futures so that they will not have to suffer as I did when I was their age. Thus, as a student who wishes to excel academically and as a mother who wants the best for her children, the scholarship which I am applying for will definitely provide the opportunity to succeed in my chosen field and thus lead to a better life for all those I love and cherish......
