Change Process and Models:

Organizational change is not a process that is likely to take place organically because it is usually caused by an external event or change that stimulates internal shifts in one or more organizational levels. The change may come about for several reasons including the need for growth, need for improvement, and need to be more successful. In attempts to understand organizational change, various change process theories, approaches, and practices have been developed. Organizational leaders can use these theories, approaches, and practices to promote change and realize the desired outcomes. However, the leaders need to determine the most appropriate theory, framework, or practice to successfully facilitate the change.

An example of an organization that has experienced change through the use of change theories, approaches, and frameworks is The Human Rights Campaign. Basically, The Human Rights Campaign is the largest civil rights organization in the United States that is working towards achieving equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans ("About Us," n.d.). The organization was founded in 1980 to basically advocate on behalf of LGBT Americans through investing strategically in electing fair-minded people to office, mobilizing grassroots initiatives in various communities, and creating public awareness on LGBT issues.
Currently, the organization advocates for more than 1.5 million members and supporters across the country who are devoted to making its vision a reality.

One of the changes that the organization has experienced is the transformation of its logo, which ushered in a new era ("About Our Logo," n.d.). The change of the organization's logo transformed it from a fund for supporting pro-fairness congressional candidates to an entity that fights for equal rights for LGBT Americans. The change introduced new programs to the well-established advocacy and political action committee abilities. The new programs included the Workplace Project and Family Project as well as expansion of the organization's communications, public relations, research, and marketing functions. The change of the logo acted as a catalyst for its long period of robust growth to an extent that The Human Rights Campaign became respected as one of America's….....
