Futures - Creative Thinking for Essay

I cannot even imagine what will evolve in the next few decades, but I know that the advances will be awesome. I hope that we use them to make our lives better and to be more creative, and I hope we do not allow them to take over even more of our lives and draw us apart from each other. I think that technology like the Wii and other games have helped bring some families closer together, and I would like that trend to continue. We rely on technology for our jobs, and I am sure that will improve in the future, but I would like to see it make families and people closer, rather than isolating them like computer use can do today. I hope that technology does not become so advanced that we forget how to relate to each other in person, because that is an important part of live, and an important part of overall happiness.

I think this book made me look at technology in a different way. I, like so many others, generally take it for granted, but in reality, technology is an important part of our daily lives and for some people, it overtakes everything else. Technology is good, but like anything else, if there is too much of it, it can be overwhelming and even damaging.Everyone knows a game addict or computer wizard that spends all his or her free time on the computer, and I do not think that is healthy or even desirable. I think that technology can become addicting, and that people can get so used to it that they do not take time to build relationships or care about others, and that is dangerous.

I think if I take one thing away from this book, it is that I would like to be more creative in my life, and that I hope technology helps us be more creative in the future. I want to look at other ways to do things, and to not be so incredibly connected to technology, especially social networking. I think that I want to develop relationships with others in person, and not just online, and I want to see what comes in the future, but not rely on it for everything in….....
