Intelligence Best Support the Shaping Research Proposal

The country of the individual must also adapt to the changing culture. Currently, the world's cultures, in regard to the information environment-shaping capabilities, continually change at an accelerating pace. Based on the rate of the increase of media outlets that disseminate the propaganda of Hamas, such as Filastin al-'An, Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Al-Aqsa TV, PALDF Forum and Sabiroon Websites, increases for this group will likely follow the same path of other technological advances.

It is likely, the researcher asserts, that these media mediums will simultaneously change and increase in the future with similar speed as the available technology. A greater number of more organized and highly technical groups, for instance, such as the "Digital Intifada," will likely materialize to meet the objectives of the Hamas. The increase in the use of and expansion of virtual worlds, such as Second Life, will further blur the lines of States and outpace the ability of governments to adjust with the technological, social, and economic ramifications. Second Life, a free online virtual world its Residents imagine and create, promotes itself as "…a fast-growing digital world filled with people, entertainment, experiences and opportunity"..

Reliance on these "virtual worlds" may lessen the impact of conflicts over social and ethnic identities; however, lack of control over these "virtual worlds" may perpetuate constant low-level conflict.

In the future, the researcher contends, in addition to Hamas seeking more control of individuals, particularly children, through upcoming technology, network warfare and hacking will probably increase. One obvious reason evolves from Hamas offering a prize of $2,000 to the person who hacked into a website hostile to the Palestinian people. The Palestinian association of Internet activists also offered $2,000 to any person who hacked into "Zionist websites" during certain exhibitions, including, but not limited to the Shas 4 site, the Temple Mount Faithful 5 site, and the American Internet Haganah, which reportedly specializes in scrutinizing global jihad Websites. Whether or not tomorrow's history will continue to recount, that as technology improved, the monopoly nation-states, such as Hamas, hoped to continue to employ and enjoy, utilizing information as an facet of power ultimately dissipated, remains to be seen…most likely, online.
