Comparison to Boeing

The general perception is that Boeing is the undisputed international leader on the aerospace market and that Airbus is generally unable to properly function and its success is only based on state subsidies and sponsorships. However, in his book Boeing vs. Airbus: The Inside Story of the Greatest International Competition in Business, John Newhouse proves the opposite. He states that Airbus deserves the title of international leader as they produce similar products of sometimes superior qualities than Boeing. In addition, they do this by using fewer financial resources and with the aid of fewer people than Boeing. Also, to prove their superiority, he cites the years 2004 and 2005, when Airbus outnumbered Boeing's sales and orders.

8. Boeing 787 Dreamliner vs. Airbus A380

The A380 is the largest airplane on the market, having the ability to transport 550 up to 800 travellers, depending on the model; whereas Boeing 787 is a smaller aircraft. The A380 was constructed as a technological masterpiece, but it lacks in its ability to entirely satisfy customers' needs and is less environmental friendly in comparison with the 787, which is more economic and fuel efficient. Generated from its large size is the risk that travellers might not agree to share their space with another seven hundred and something individuals, but might prefer the cosier and smaller 787.

9. Recommend Changes to Remain Competitive

What is to be appreciated about Airbus is their commitment to innovation, product development and the usage of the latest technologies.However, aside from these, the company should place an increased emphasis on what the customers actually demand in order to better satisfy their needs. They should also use the high technologies to create more economic and fuel efficient engines.
