An organization is a social entity. Most organizations have goals that have to be attained; hence, they must be goal-oriented. Organizations have well defined structures, which coordinate the entire system through necessary communication channels. For there to be recognizable performance, organizations ought to relate to the external environment. This is because no organization has the monopoly in any field. There has to be a mutual relationship between them (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2009).

Healthcare organizations are, therefore, those that indulge in activities that are aimed at promoting and maintaining the health of individuals. They also ensure the restoration of health to people. The healthcare organization, therefore, comprises of the workforce (healthcare workers, nurses, and care attendants), the community at large, and the environment that is usually made of health policy makers (Kotler, Shalowitz & Stevens, 2010).

Leeway to process improvement

The Centre of Medicaid-Medicare services (CMS) is an independent body, which has the mandate to ensure healthcare organizations achieve the required performance and offer the best service delivery to patients. The CMS frequently does studies to ensure that the workforce in the healthcare organizations understands their responsibilities, starting from management to the other subordinate workers (Brown, 2005). For any organization to benefit from the studies there has to be full compliance with the CMS regulations. These regulations include the availability of the right, managing strategies, and the offering of the best services in healthcare.

Management study is crucial in any organization, including the healthcare organizations. This is due to the responsibilities of the managers, which include the decision making incase of complicated issues of the organization, direction of subordinate staff in implementation of their skills to attain required goals, ensuring that the right communication channels are adopted to avoid inconveniences in transfer of data, among others.
Healthcare institutions are supposed to have the right management that will trigger and motivate the healthcare workers to attain process improvement. The joint commission requirements also need to be met for there to be efficiency in the healthcare sector. Compliance to this examining bodies help organizations to realize there potentials and strive to hit them. However, CMS has always had fear that the performance data will be added advantage to their critics, who believe that CMS has management issues, and their ability to reform has failed over the years. So allowing performance study would be like committing suicide (Fredericksons, 2006).

Organizations that perform best are reimbursed handsomely. Performance is determined by the organization's ability to perform in service delivery, and the compliance of the organization to the CMS body and the JCAHO standards. When studies are conducted and the reports processed after three months, the outcome determines the level of reimbursement. Organizations that are ranked top due to meeting the right standards often get more reimbursement. Those that hardly comply are not reimbursed.

The entire staff should, therefore, be aware of study, for this will help them put in their best when working. Those the organization thinks are incompetent should be trained in the related fields and not fired. If the staffs comply fully, there is hope for better performance, leading to the organizations being ranked highly. Such organizations that build their name in terms of performance are the precise ones that attract more clients and the best workforce in the market. Good staff should comply with the managements' requirements, and there will be expected performance that is the sale tool of the organization.
