SOP Nursing

When I look back on my early career as a nurse, I want to be sure that I challenged myself to step outside my comfort zone and stretch my boundaries of what I deemed possible to achieve. I am applying to the Georgetown University program because I know this is the program that, when I reflect upon it, would have challenged me personally and professionally in ways that improve my attitude, outlook, skills, and practice. The Georgetown program offers an unprecedented level of flexibility with regards to online courses, offered from a reputable university. It is not just because of convenience that I apply; it is also because my colleagues at ANP coaxed me into pursuing a higher degree at Georgetown.

In five or ten years, I hope to be working in a rural health facility because I see great need to improve public health in non-urban communities where access to resources and services is sometimes hindered by geography.
It is my ultimate goal to provide outreach and educational services to those who need them in rural communities. To achieve this goal, I intend to become a public health-focused nurse leader who can inspire other nurses to follow evidence-based practice when developing programs, policies, and procedures.

Currently I am working with bariatric patients at a specialized healthcare institution. I organize and deliver seminars, helping to raise awareness about specific issues facing bariatric practice and the patients. Similarly, I help train nurses and offer guidance for best practices. In addition to my role as a leader and mentor, I also work directly with patients on a daily basis. From intake to discharge, and monitoring needs in between, my approach to nursing is firmly patient-centric and humanitarian. I intend to apply this philosophy….....
