However, wear clothes that make you feel comfortable. Don't wear heels if you're not accustomed to walking in pumps, as you might be asked to take a tour of the company. Also, you want to stride into the interview room, not wobble, or be tugging at a too-tight tie!

On the day, have a good breakfast. Get up early for a morning interview, so you don't feel rushed. Shower, brush your teeth, and do everything you normally do in the realm of personal hygiene, and perhaps put on your favorite socks or earrings (as long as they are not too flashy). Do something a little bit extra to give yourself confidence! If you are worried about waiting for a long time, bring a newspaper in your briefcase, if there is no company literature to peruse in the lobby.

Make eye contact and have a firm handshake when meeting your interviewer or interviewers. If you are submitted to a panel interview, make eye contact with everyone, including the people at the far ends of the panel. Don't be aggressive, but make sure you bring up your career high points.
Use details, such as the fact that you increased revenue for the department a specific percent, or you created a particularly innovative advertising campaign -- of which you have a sample, of course, right on hand. Ask questions about what life is like at the company, and your duties, as well as the company philosophy and mission statement, and remember the name of your interviewers, but don't address the people you meet by their first name (unless they only identify themselves by their first name)! Even though it may be on your mind, don't ask questions about salary and benefits -- those questions should be reserved after you nail the job. Asking questions about future projects of the company can make you look interested and ambitious, which is a positive.

End with a positive note about yourself, another smile and a handshake, and make sure to send a thank-you email or note, as soon as possible! Even if you are not suitable for the position you interviewed for, a new job opening may open up….....
