There are a number of different issues that have been affecting the health care facility over the last several years. Recently, the various cutbacks in assistance from government programs (i.e. Medicaid and Medicare) have caused many of the different challenges that we have been facing to become even worse. As a result, a special consultant was brought in to analyze the situation and determine what possible strategies can be undertaken to address the various challenges facing the hospital. At which point, the finance committee would undertake a careful analysis of how these recommendations can be implemented throughout the facility. Enclosed is a detailed report that will outline the various challenges facing the hospital and some possible solutions that can be introduced to deal with them. It is important to remember, that the proposal is still a work in progress and feed back is vital from everyone, to ensure that balanced approach is taken when addressing the underlying challenges. Introduction

Currently, the hospital has been facing a number of different issues.
Part of the reason for this, is because various elements have come together to create severe economic challenges for the facility going forward. The most notable include: rising health care costs, less coverage for patients using government programs (i.e. Medicare / Medicaid), an increasing number of uninsured patients (who are being treated) and the lingering effects from the recession on the local community. These different elements are important, because they are highlighting various challenges that the hospital is facing going forward. To prevent the situation from having an impact on the overall bottom line of the facility requires that some kind of drastic action is taken.

Solutions

As a result, a possible solution to the problem is: to have the employees redesign the work environment and how their departments are staffed. Where, obvious cost overruns and redundancy of assignments have been found to be a part of the reason for the increases in the overall costs at the hospital. To address these issues the staff could help identify areas where: costs can be reduced in their departments and how operational efficiency can be increased. As they will….....
