The policy has discussed the issue of contamination as a whole, it should be more specific about the threats posed by different types of chemicals, organic materials or other dangerous materials and in a broad perspective and compare these problems with one another in order to justify which is a bigger threat and which is considered a nominal threat, in this regard the policymakers should have given more info on the most common types of hazardous materials which pollute the land, and then compare them with one another to justify to the reader about which is the bigger threat comparable to other threats

The main emphasis of the policy is to remediate the land affected by contamination in a sense that only if there is something new being developed in the proposed land,

"Close co-ordination between planning authorities, transport authorities and pollution control regulators is essential to meet the common objective that where development takes place, it is sustainable (cited from pps23 planning and pollution control)."

Many people may get a sense that remediation will only be applied where the economic interest lies of firms or powerful individuals and that if there is no economic or other beneficiary interest then the policy may not apply, this thought should be properly addressed

"Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 came into force in England in 2000.

Its main aim is to help address the problem of historical contamination of land and the risks it can pose to people's health and the environment.It requires that local authorities identify contaminated land and ensure that significant risks are dealt with. Part 2A properly states that it is the interest of the government to remediate the land regardless of any interest from an economic point-of-view. It should be more precise to the people that their lives, properties are more valuable to the government and help would be provided to them even to an individual basis if the person is suffering form the contamination.

Finally, more coordination from top to bottom level is required to deal with these types of problems; the policy should give more authority to the persons in charge of the cleanup operations so that they may be facilitated with their work especially in the time of emergency.
