Electricity is probably one of the most basic privileges we know as humankind today. Almost everything we do in our professional or private lives is in some way powered by electricity. Since Edison's invention of the electric light bulb, electricity has developed to power almost every aspect of business and pleasure today. The many inventions and developments of electricity over the last century or so has made it so complex that few people who do not study it in fact know how it works or can repair wiring when something goes wrong. This is why I am interested in the field of electric engineering. Since electricity and the many things we can do with it today hold great fascination for me, it is my aim to make this my major when enrolling for undergraduate study.

I have always been interested in the field of electricity and the engineering that makes it possible. As a child, I would frequently watch professionals make repairs to our home electrical systems.
At school, many of my projects included building gadgets and little machines that run on batteries or electrical power. I also have a large number of books and magazines where I have the most up-to-date information at my fingertips. In addition, I do frequent online research to gain information about the newest electrical inventions and the various branches of electrical engineering. I therefore have no doubt that I can make a success of an undergraduate course with electrical engineering as my major.

I believe there is a great demand for electrical engineers in the world today, and this demand can only grow. With the rapid advances in technology, an electrical engineer will always be in demand. Because of the increasingly complicated nature of technology, electrical engineers will be in constant demand to perform maintenance and repair work.
