The editor chose to take a Scriptural approach to the issue, and, therefore, the authors focused on what was presented in Scripture and used Scriptural arguments to support their conclusions about the appropriate role of women in the ministry. Because an evangelical perspective suggests that all answers should be contained within the text of the Bible, itself, Beck certainly provided good arguments for both the Egalitarian and the Complimentarian perspectives.

Conclusion

Beck's goal is to provide Evangelical Christians with a point-counterpoint argument about the appropriate role of women in the ministry. It is important to keep in mind that Evangelical Christianity is only one part of the Christian community, so that these arguments should not be assumed to apply to all Christians. Within its limitations, Beck's book provides a good summary of the two different proposed roles of women in the ministry.
However, the book raises many questions and suggests that readers need to do additional research on their own to come to their own conclusions, rather than relying on either of the perspectives introduced in the book.
