The nursing career differs from the medical field in that nursing is solely focused on the care and advocacy of the patient. Nurses are the intermediaries between doctor-patient relationships; they are the bridges that enable patients to understand the situation regarding healthcare and healthcare practices. Nurses depend on the human responses and the human condition in order to better care for the patients. They are responsible for further interactions with patients as well as their families and communities (American Nurses Association). This is the broad scope that the American Nurses Association basically defines the nursing career (American Nurses Association). Nurses not only assist physicians and doctors when it comes to certain diagnoses and treatments, they also are taught to genuinely care for the patients that transcend the medicine.

Nurses have the ability to fill a myriad of fields, one of which includes being a caregiver or the one responsible for giving assistance to a patient caregiver. In both respects, the nurse is there to be the guide and -- if the nurse works full-time as an in-home or facility caregiver -- intermediary when it comes to patient care. Nurse caregivers have knowledge and experience in adult health and gerontology (Glicksman).
They also possess the proper education when it comes to assessing the focus of the care they give to the patient, from diet to the management of the patient's condition. When working with the patient caregivers, the nurses are also guides when it comes to providing a future plan for patient care and a pillar of mental health support. They are aware of the complications that revolve around patient illnesses, including but not limited to patient mobility, medication, skin integrity, and organ system movements (Glicksman). Overall, the nurse caregiver gauges the patient's capabilities and responds accordingly.

Nurses also undertake to achieve a degree of high quality patient care. In order to reach this goal of quality care, nurses must be prepared to fill the various roles that encompass the nursing career. Nurses should have a degree of observation in order to record and….....
