The reason why, is because the attitudes that they are embracing will have an effect on the work environment. As staff members will look to executives based on: the actions and attitudes of managers. In those situations, where executives are only concerned about themselves, this will have adverse consequences upon productivity. With employees taking, a similar kind of approach as, the attitudes of supervisors. Once this occurs, it will create an atmosphere where no one is willing to go the extra mile.

While those executives, who are demonstrating that they are willing to do more for employees and mangers will have a positive impact on the organization. This is because of the attitudes and ideas that they are projecting, will have an effect on work environment. Over the course of time, this will influence on how profitable the company will be. As employees are willing to go the extra mile, due to the fact that they see managers engaging in the same kind of actions.
This is significant, because it is illustrating how various executives will often use a variety of different techniques in being able to effectively reach out employees. As, they are: setting the example and are often seen as a coach / colleague (who is there to motivate them). If this kind of approach can be taken it will help to ensure that company is able to increase productivity (through: encouraging different staff members). This is point that profit margins to will increase, with everyone willing to go the extra mile for the customers and the organization.
