I am currently practicing at San Diego Table Tennis Association; I am ranked as one of the best players in San Diego. I also play the Erhu (a Chinese violin) and was the soloist of my high school's prize-winning orchestra. I hope to make a community contribution by promoting Chinese music and culture, as I did when I was president of my high school's music society.

Thus my talents are both competitive and harmonious. I hope to create a sense of healthy competition as well as community spirit and cultural harmony through the medium of music at the university as a student.

Life deals one absurd obstacles at times. One can survive much and plan -- and then one must face traffic!

A received a failing grade in a Biology class during UCSD Summer session, not because of lack of application, but because the two-hour bus trip between my dormitory and class deposited me outside of the lecture hall an hour and a half late for the final exam. I nearly vowed cure the state of California of all of its public transportation ills as a result -- but instead set myself the goal of taking another Biology class at the UCSD Summer session the following year and get an a -- which I did!

The only other blemish upon my academic transcript is the CI was given in a speech class in San Diego Mesa College. I was extremely proficient in written English at the time, for most textbooks in Hong Kong are written in English.
